Love and Rage:
The Path of Liberation Through Anger
Â
Daylong Retreat with Lama Rod Owens
April 4th, 2026 from 10am-6pm ET
Online
Creating the change we want to see starts with ourselves.
As we wake up to the truth of the world as it is, we face the multiplicities fo our grief, anger, and rage.Â
Our current times continue to call us towards the truth about ourselves, our inner pain, the health of our planet, our systems of violence, and our economies of scarcity.Â
The time to do this werk is now.
When we face the truth, we can create intentional change. We can respond rather than react to our feelings of anger, grief, and hopelessness as we continue to live through apocalyptic times.
Based on Lama Rod’s best-selling book, Love and Rage: The Path of Liberation Through Anger, this online daylong retreat is here to support you through your exploration of anger and individual and collective trauma.Â
In this daylong, you will deeply come to know your rage, accept it, and learn how to use the wisdom contained within anger as ground for liberation.Â
Come gather with Lama Rod & community for this online daylong retreat, where you will work with practices that resource you with working with difficult emotions arising from the circumstances of our time.
This daylong retreat is for you if:
- You're new to Lama Rod's work and want to learn how to work with your anger, rage, and grief
- You read Love and Rage and want guidance on how to incorporate the practices in the book into your daily life
- You participated in a previous Love and Rage course (live or self-guided) and want a refresher and further exploration into the other practices from the book

Â
What does the registration fee support?
Registration fees support Lama Rod and his team for the extensive labor, seen and unseen, and spiritual devotion that allows his work to remain accessible and sustainable. These resources help cover ongoing operational costs, such as the online platforms and services that are used to offer digital programs, team compensation, and the legal and accounting requirements of the United States, as well as physical spaces, materials, and nourishment for events when applicable.
As Lama Rod writes in The New Saints, he seeks to make the tradition of the Buddha relevant to our experiences in the present moment. This means inviting offerings and exchanges that honor the material needs of his energetic presence and livelihood — not in a conditional nor transactional way, but reflecting a tradition of reciprocity and universal balance similar to how you might leave food upon an altar for an ancestor. Giving and receiving are practices that embody the ethic of care that grounds Lama Rod’s work.
Therefore, your registration fees are one of the ways that Lama Rod is sustained so that he can continue his free and by-donation offerings such as Free Radicals, Sunday Service, and Blessed Slay. These offerings reflect our team’s commitment that no one be excluded from the teachings based upon their financial means. Those who register at the Pay-It-Forward price further increase accessibility by making financial assistance possible for those who need financial assistance. Barter offerings and work exchanges are also welcome in some instances. Lama Rod believes that we can be well resourced while practicing an anti-capitalist ethic and is deeply grateful to be in a reciprocal relationship with you.

Feedback from previous Love and Rage participants:
"Magic - I am experiencing the most difficult period of my life and these teachings were invaluable. I experienced insights like holding intense pain within joy and touching earth that were completely new to me. Lama Rod offers profound teachings in a way that demystifies them in an accessible way."
"The course provided a space to go deeper and really internalize and embody the content from the book. It's easy to just read it from an intellectual place, but I didn't want to do that, and the course helped me process it not just mentally but also in an embodied way, and that was very helpful."
"It has felt like connection I have never felt before, and the finding of tools I had always hoped for. A coming together of seemingly conflicting parts, and a strength to keep looking."
"It has helped me deepen my love and compassion practice and given me more tools to resource myself through difficult times so it's been really amazing for me."
"This course has been life-changing for me. I feel included and like there is space for me. I have been able to heal my stagnations and scary places in my body through the practices."
"I'm very grateful for the practices in the course, especially the Homecomings. I'm finding it a powerful way of connection and acceptance of my journey through life. Much appreciation for the spaciousness to hold all the contradictions and paradoxes that flow through my body, mind and heart. I have much to do to accept and allow my rage, but thank you Lama Rod for the practices and normalization of all feelings."
"Lama Rod's humor and wit were so refreshing. His wisdom helped me feel more spacious and grounded and I've developed more clarity in emotional language and experience because of this course."
"This course has been life changing on multiple levels."
"I am so grateful. Lama Rod has answered questions I didn't even know I was asking and longing to hear answers for."
"I took this course primarily to work with anger but what I found while doing the course was that what I needed most were the practices of calling in my circle of care to support me - to take refuge, and the practices for mourning. Partially "right thing at right time", partially just things I hadn't thought I needed that it turns out I sorely did. Both of those practices have felt transformative to both my existing practice and to my outlook/perspective on life."
"It has truly allowed me to take the time to integrate some wisdom, to create some spaciousness within, and get to know myself more, and how I can interact with the world with more agency."
"The experience has been so insightful and loving. It's helped me work through a lot of unprocessed experiences and emotions at a time when I've generally felt really depleted. I had been unsure if I could commit to anything else. But I am so glad I did. So grateful for this experience."
"The course was an anchor. The material met me where I am, and helped me recognize that the work I've been doing the last several years is deeper in my bones than I knew.”
"I'm so grateful for a truly beautiful, affirming experience!"
